We were all born with the capacity to achieve but at times we become our own stumbling blocks when we yield to what is not important. I view capacity as a container filled with greatness waiting for an opportunity to permit the greatness to be revealed. The matter becomes worse when such behaviour becomes habitual. At least the capacity to become, to achieve never fails but the window of opportunity may not always remain open. We have the potential to be but the "........" can be replaced with other words, for example, "later", "maybe", "never" etcetera.

I understand more of the message in Jeremiah, where God knows each of his people and their potential to be but their sinful ways held them back to from becoming the greatness they could become. I see the same in children that I have the pleasure of sitting, teaching or caring for. They have such raw talent that is revealed in doing simple tasks like painting but the lack of concentration poses as a block to not only perfect the skill and also revealing the greatness of such talent within their capacity.
I have learned of my weakness and that is procrastination, it has kept me from achieving so much and that's holding me back from what God wants me to be, limiting myself from the greatness he has set in me for His glory. We have the potential to become but it remains that, a potential yielding no fruits until the choice is not made to yield to opportunity and work on overcoming whatever self weaknesses that are serving as stumbling blocks.
