The book of Hosea chapter 2 it speaks of God's love; a love letter to His wife "Israel". The usual pattern of whereby Israel was unfaithful, busy prostituting herself to idols. We are guilty of the same, except our idols are have different names and still made by man. Anyway, the fact that God, despite Israel's unfaithfulness, He blocks her path so that she doesn't seek more lovers that are taking pieces of her. He protects her when she has given Him all the reason to turn from her. He knows her flaws and still wants her back. The transparency of her wicked ways from the moment they are born in thought to the performing them does not deter Him immediately. He fights for her because He knows her worth. His love for her is so deep, even words cannot explain or the mind understand that even the constant sins committed without restraint doesn't make Him love her less. She (we) pursue the lovers that we give our utmost attention to, willing to do anything that we think satisfies us with good reason and justification. The lovers that give us money to fulfill our fleshly desires, curb our emotions, makes us look good and increase our status among other things we selfishly desire. I am talking about our jobs, careers, spouses, friends, family all with good reason and justification that have taken the Masters position. At times, He blocks what grips our attention so that we may turn back to Him. Circumstances occur that are so bad like that of the prodigal son, we see it better to go back to the Father. We will come to realize, He is the one who provides His bride with everything she is in need and even more. He will convict us to the point, we become repentant. God is gentle, He speaks gently and tenderly to us and restores all that was lost when we gave ourselves away because of our unfaithfulness. He provides, protects, guides, delivers, counsels, dresses us up with white linen after washing us with His blood, not only forgives but also forgets our past sins. After being used up, He puts the best coat around us and He is happy we've returned. His takes away all that could harm us and wants us to live in peace and safety. He loves us too deep and accepts us as we are, He call us His friend but the more we live and know Him, the title friend is not enough. It's like falling in love with a man and all he wants to be is your friend, one's heart is not satisfied. The title "bride" makes more sense. The more we know Him, the harder we fall in love with Him, we will call Him "husband" who deeply knows us, nothing hidden from Him about us and yet accepts us and cleanses us. We can trust Him for He has never failed us even though we've failed Him countless times. He makes us His own and will come back for His bride and dwell with her forever. To know that He is our God is one thing, to acknowledge this truth daily is another because you entire being is moved by this, that God calls you His own and wants to dwell with you forever.
